In my mid-50s, I returned to college. With the exception of one professor, I spent my time going to the chair because so much rubbish was spoken. In every case, I won. Compared to what I grew up with in my youth, there is a visible decline in education.

My late father was educated. He spoke 11 or 13 languages, had degrees in law, engineering, and journalism, plus ran a successful business, plus was chairman or president of astronomical and engineering societies, published throughout his life, a fabulous speaker, dresser, and dancer, and I never heard his curse in his life! That's what I call an education!

My sister, who never went to college (ballet dancer) has traveled the world, speaks three languages, and, as a result of reading every single day, is highly informed.

There is a difference between gaining a qualification at university and being educated.
