In a life time of writing, I have received maybe adozen negative comments. I ignored them because they were made by people who weren't writers, and so many people said the opposite, that I knew they were talking shit.

In the other hand, on ocassion, an editor or a client has asked me to change something. They have told me specifically what needed changing, and as they paid the bill, I changed it. Even, when it went against the grain.

That said, I have never asked anyone to crit my work. If something doesn't get accepted for publication, I just accept it and write something else. It isno big deal to me.

It's easy enough to write.
