I'm seriously confused. I think that Medium is now the best it has ever been. It make its money out of readers - not writers. There was a mistake for a short time - that the platform was for writers, and they were promoted for a short time (about a year or 18 months). Then that didn't work as it lost a ton of readers. So they are now focusing on what readers want - not on what writers want to promote or write about.
