I'm not sure what you mean the policy isn't meant for people like us. Medium withheld 10% of my earnings yesterday. U-Ming Lee (look in comments section) has 30% of his money withheld by Medium for taxes.

Of course, it's meant for people liks us. I've added quite a bit to my article above. So that Americans can understand this.

The money is not refundable. If I was earning $50 on Medium, Medium would withhold $5. It's not refundable.
