I'm not sure what you mean by 'consciousness.' It's one of those words that have meaning for people who think that life is, well, more than life.

Will enough people become aware of just how much danger we are in? Yes, eventually - when enough climate disasters happen to them to scare them out of their wits.

For the most part, as most people are not thinkers of any great depth, they will rely on anyone who says they will fix it up. They'll also listen to all the 'spiritual' gurus and other nonsense soothsayers.

My personal opinion is that we are doomed.
