I'm not sure what you mean. Views are not paid - they never have been. Views are simply the number of times that Medium has presented the title of your article to a reader. If the reader clicks on it, and then decides to read it, it becomes a read. We are only paid for reads.

When your readers subscribe to you, they are sent a reminder that you have just published an article. In order to read the article, they must click on the link to your article. They then read the article on your site. You are then paid for their read.

This is my understanding.

I don't see any place in my stats where it indicates whether something is paid or unpaid. Please can you tell me where it is that you see that.

With regard to distribution, I used to get distributed quite reguarly, but I had one or two in December, and one or two in January, and that was it.

That said, distribution has never made any difference to my readership, and nor has posting to other publications.

I'm not sure what is going on with distribution, but I think that Medium is giving minorities the opportunity of being distributed. I don't know because I decline to be notified to anything that is happening on Medium.

Please confirm where it is on your stats that it shows that email isn't paid for.
