I'm not interested in art - never have been. I am interested in beauty, in stories that hold my attention, and, I suppose, have happy-ever-after endings. Perhaps I have very bourgeois taste. :)

I don't like the violence in all the movies. i don't like the loud music. I don't like deep, meaningful characters who are experiencing some sort of hurt or revelation, etc. I like plot drive stories, not character driven stories.

I think there is an enormous misunderstanding of what characterization is in a story. It means that the character is well expressed. It does not mean that the story is character driven.

What do you mean that your one grandparent saw beauty in new art. What art? Do you see movies as art?
