As someone who has been poor my entire life, I have never had any need to buy an iphone or wear a label or waste money on brands.

There is fuck all you can do in managing your money if you're earning $1100 per month and you cannot find an apartment for under $800 per month. The reason most people are poor is simply because they earn too little money, and the reason they earn too little money is that the economic system is rigged to serve the wealthy.

I was 52 when I arrived in the States. Someone asked me what I did for happiness. I didn't know what he was talking about. I had never in my entire life heard that oen could be happy. The pursuit of happiness is an American thingie. Most people in Africa (where I come from) aren't pursuing happiness. They are pursuing basic survival.
