I'm curious. What is wrong with seeing writing as a way of making money. I have always written - since I was 10 years old. My father, amongst other things, also wrote, not that he needed the money, but he did expect to get paid for it. He never wrote 'just for the joy of it.'

Why is a writer not meant to write for money? When I worked at magazines, publishers, newspapers, all the writers worked for money.
