Whenever I move (In the past year, I've lived in George (South Africa,) Dusseldorf (Germany), Lisbon, Porto, and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal, and I'm about to move to Cork in Ireland), one of the first things I check in the availability of public transport.

So, for instance, I've already established that Cork doesn't have a good transport system in the outer areas, so I won't be living there.
