I'm 70. I've never talked about my boobs in my life. I have never been in a conversation with another man or woman about boobs.

Then, again, I remember one night in my late 50s going out on a blind date in Houston. At some point, the guy said to me, "You talk about very different things to other women."

I was puzzled. I talk to a lot of people, especially online. So I asked him what other women spoke about.

He said, "Their families, their past relationships, their sex lives."

I was gobsmacked. Of what possible interest could that be to anyone else. It has always irritated the hell out of me if someone asked after my family and they don't even know them. And whatever happened in the past, it's gone, over. Of what possible use is it to talk about it.

Nope. We need to talk about climate change and other issues. I truly don't see the point of talking about one's own life. I find it incrediblhy boring having to talk about me.
