"If Temu were to succeed and replace Amazon, Western infrastructure would collapse because of the weight we placed on e-commerce."

Say what?

Amazon has 38% of the market in the States and 24% of the market in the EU.

I spent 11 years in America. it's the least free country I have ever lived in. It has more than 2 million people incarcerated with China having 1.6 million. However, America has 330 million people, while China has 1.4 billion people. In other words, America has about 5 times more people in jail than China has.

As for 'protecting a single product or idea,' I think that is highly unethical. Whether you believe it or not, many people think of the same idea. They don't always have the money for to patent or produce. Ideas should never be patented. The concept certainly doesn't support freedom.

In America, people will get employed by a corporation. They will think of an idea, and then the corporation will patent it, and the person who actually thought of the idea gets nothing.

Amazon takes far more than a 20% mark up, by the way. And the way it treats its traders is horrendous. Oh, wait, of course, Jeff Bezos is so stupid that he thinks he can start a civilization on Mars, so that has to be paid for. Why not screw all the traders who sell on Amazon. Great ethics.

I'm sorry. I don't have your love affair with America. Having been born and bred in Africa, with dual German citizenship, won a green card to live in the States, and lived and worked in multiple countries in my life, plus visited many, I suspect that I have a vastly different perspective to your own.
