I would totally agree with you. I had a German father and an Afrikaans mother. Neither culture felt a need to be something that they weren't. I went to an English school, though, and, oh, the problems.

I lasted 11 years in America, and that was it. I am back in Europe (albeit moving from Germany to Portugal at month end).
