I understand that - new monetary theory. However, when one does these, it is also a means of redistribution.

For instance, if the goverment prints all the money it needs without taxing people, it will use that money to pay for things.

So one company manufactures 100 products, and there is $100 in circulation. Then the government prints whatever money it needs but the number of products manufactured is not increased. The goverment prints $100 because it needs to have those 100 products. So now there is $200 in circulation, but only 100 products. The products are now worth $2 each instead of $1 each. This is a redistribution of wealth because the person who made the products now gets more for them. Conversely, it works the other way round as well.
