I think you're getting muddled between knowledge and intelligence. The opposite of knowledge is ignorance. The opposite of intelligence is stupidity.

People can be highly intelligent, i.e. able to problem solve, but they might know very little about anything, i.e. they're ignorant.

People can be very knowledgeable about a lot of things, but they don't have the intelligence to be able to use that knowledge.
