I think you misunderstand something. Medium has been running at a loss since its inception, and if that carries on, its doors will close.

Medium does not need anymire name recognition, and it earns nothing if people do not read your story. It is always the number of reads - not views that matter.

A view means that Google or Medium served up your piece to someone, but that person wasn't interested anough to read it.

All of us get traffic from Google.
