I think there's a breakthrough point, but I'm not quite sure what it is. I've noticed that a lot of newbies follow me. They have 10 or 20 or 50 or 60 people following them. So you know that they are new to the platform.

I think they then read all the stuff that the success gurus post, and they think that have to add people in order for those people to add them back. That, of course, is complete rubbish.

I found that the best way around this is to write quite lengthy articles on a niche topic that only people who are genuinely interested want to read. That way, eventually you do have a set of core readers.
