I think that Medium is trying out different writers. Last month, a friend and I had incredible spikes, and this month we've gone flat again. Not as flat as it was previously, but compared to the spike of the previous month, very flat.

Maybe Medium is giving everybody a turn so that they can pick up followres. I picked up a 1000 followers in a few weeks.
