I think that Dems and Republicans are fighting very different battles. Republicans are in a war to win first place, so that they can have the first place they always used to have. They don't care how they win, so long as they win. This is not about democracy, fairness, or anything civilized.

It is simply a caveman tactic to win at all costs.
