I suspect that is not true.

So really, to be an English teacher, you don’t even need to be a “native speaker”. You could be European and still qualify. When a school wants a “native English speaker,” what they mean is someone white.

I suspect that is not true. What they're looking for is people who speak English with an accent that is understandable universally, and that is normally New Zealand, Canadian, the UK, and America.
