I spent 11 years in the USA, moved to Scotland, then Spain, then back to South Africa (to be near family as family needed me). I am now back in the EU (Portugal). Still have family in the US.

From long experience (very long experience), you cannot reason with people who are brainwashed, i.e. they have been indoctrinated to believe what they do. It's impossible. They have to be deprogrammed.

Admittedly, telling them that they're stupid doesn't work either. It just upsets them, and the more upset they get, they more violent they get.

Are there any solutions to the US problem? Yes, a massive counter brainwashing program. Not going to happen.
