I read the book some 20 years ago. it's interesting that Daniel Goleman is a journalist (or was) and he is not a psychology professional. Or he wasn't when he wrote that book.

I am far more interested in emotional maturity and emotional intelligence. Psychopaths have high degrees of emotional intelligence. And the people who succeed most in life are those with high IQ not high EQ. Twenty percent of business owners and billionaires, etc. are psychopaths, and the rest are somewhere on the scale.
