I once ran a 'how to write' publication on Medium. It was considered the best writing pub on Medium while I wrote for it, but there is only so much one can say about writing. You might find something useful about it.

That said, writing is not a means of self-expression as so many are keen to say. Nor is it about feelings. Writers are thinkers - they describe what is happening, what the world is about, and the good writers are the ones who say things that other writers don't say or can't say.
In the meantime, can I give your tips.
Do not start your writing with 'hello and welcome back,' Start your story with a line that will catch the attention of your reader and keep it there. The opening paragraph is vital - don't waste it.
Next, imagine your teacher or professor gave you an essay to write about the world in general. Explain the constitution of Red China. How the Eifel Tower in Paris was built. The introduction of wolves to the forest.
It's the unusual topics that will draw readers to you. Also, learn about CMS or AP style and write in that format. Hope that helps.
Best to you.
