I never saw any interference in South African apartheid policies. However, when I returned to South Africa for 5 years, I saw plenty of interference in our monetary system. I had to stand in line for two bloody hours every time I received money from outside South Africa.

Nor did I see America running to remove Mugabe from Zimbabwe. America protects her oil interests in Nigeria. That's all. Don't be naive.
