I just went to read that. Having read that, I think the US immigration system is nuts. I actually agree with Donald Trump - that the Diversity lottery (which is how I got in) - should be scapped. I also think the idea that your family can join you should be scrapped.

I eventually left the USA because I found it a very difficult country to survive and went back to Europe. Granted here, because I am an EU citizen, I can move to any other EU member country.

However, I do not qualify for a single country, and I never have. I don't have the money, and I don't have the qualifications or the talent.

I have always accepted that.

In my home country, South Africa, if America opened their doors, probably half the coutnry would leave (about 30 million people) simply because the country is very violent, and a substantial number live in shanties.

Same would happen with Nigeria.

You're talking about 2.4 millin influx per year. If you changed the laws, you would have 50 million a year.

This is what I don't understand about the resistance to opening the doors and making it easy.

Please explain.
