I just spent 10 weeks in Germany. I was going to live there. I was absolutely horrified that IT technology available in South Africa was not available in Germany.

I moved to Portugal two weeks ago. Tech easily available. No issues. It took me 7 hours to try to sign up for a prepaid sim card for my phone in Dusseldorf (this was done by a guy who worked in the phone industry). It took me 10 minutes in Lisbon.

As I earn my living writing on the web, I eventually realized that Germany was not going to work for me. I have since been told that they are still on digital and have not moved to fibre.
