I have the same reaction when people say "God bless you" and "I'll pray for you."

…was furious. Well-meaning or not, there was an implication that our pain wasn’t an accident at all. It was part of some overarching spiritual, religious or metaphysical plan orchestrated by some twisted architect somewhere.
