I have taken a great deal of time during the past 30 years to study Palestine. The area was first occupied by Jews for 1300 years, then by Christians for 700 years, and until recently, by Muslims for the past 600 years.

Politically, until the early 20th century, Palestine was a province of the Ottoman Empire (Turkey), and the British Empire was given the mandate to rule in the early 29th century.

The local people in the area have been fighting the Jews (even though they legally bought and paid for the land) since about 1850. At that time, there were a few thousand 'Pakestinians' living there.

The number of Palestinians living there now is a result of the birthrate and migration from other areas

Both Palestinians and Jews migrated there in recent years. Nor is Palestine occupied. I would suggest you start reading secular, academic sources
