I have no idea why people take fiction books seriously. I read them and dump them. They're fiction. Lord of the Flies was one of my school books in the 60s. It bored the hell out of me.

I read To Kill a Mockingbird because, at the time I had nothing to read, and I'm a readaholic. It bored the hell out of me.

I have read about the other books, plus read their summaries. I have no interest in them.

This is not because I'm socially unaware. I read a lot of non-fiction. I just refuse point blank to destroy my love of fiction by reading the same stuff in fiction books that I read in non-fiction books.
