I have never understood two things - the American obsession with freedom snd the idea that retirement is difficult to adjust to. Both my sister and I stepped i to retirement with joy, happy to be doing all the things we liked to do.

As for freedom, most people in the world are free to do as tbey like to greater or lesser degrees.
