I have never done that in my life. Nor have I ever recommended a movie, a book, or a restaurant or anything else. I cannot, for the life of me, understand why anyone would be interetsed. My tastes would be completely different to anyone else's, so why would they want to know.

The converse of that is that I very seldom hear anything from anybody that I haven't already read somewhere. It absolutely blows my mind that it doesn't occur to people that someone might already know something. That's what mansplaining is, by the way - men who assume that because you're a woman, you don't know something.

It's also true that I have not one iota of interest in talking about movies, other people, books, or anything that most people speak about. I am, essentially, a systems person. I look at systems - social systems, economic systems, political systems, earth systems, etc.
