I have absolutely no idea why so many women in some countries are so involved with their looks, their status, man-hunting, etc. It is certainly not the norm for most of the world.
I've lived in too many countries to believe this is the norm. It's not. For instance, the last thing this lady in Nigeria is worried about is her appearance. There are too many other things to worry about.

In Africa, we have tribes. Tanzania as more than 120 tribes. I'm not sure why American POC think they're ugly. According to this photographer, these are the ten tribes with the loveliest women. I can't see how this standard is any different to any other country in the world - high cheek bones and big eyes.

I left the States in 2014, and since then I've lived in six countries. One of the things I noticed in the EU is that nobody dresses to go to work. People go to work in casual clothes. I don't think I've seen a woman in high heels for years. Maybe in Cape Town.
I'm currently living in Ireland. I've been here just on a year. Every person I see is wearing trainers, casual slacks (jeans, track suit bottoms, etc.) and they go to work like that. I don't recall seeing anyone with make up that has stood out. The exception is when women go out in the evening.
America has the largest number of Tik Tok users. For the most part, in other countries, people aren't glued to the web. They are doing other things.
