I had a friend who managed one of the stores in a chain. He told me about Yuval Noah Harari. I spent some time reading through some of the chapters (with coffee, of course). I honestly didn't see a single thing that I didn't already know or hadn't already worked out for myself.

Most people don't read a lot, and most people don't think. That is the only reason I can think that his books impress so many people.
