I grew up in a house with three servants and no instruction on how to do anything - not to make a bed or cook or brush my teeth or take a bath. I was driven to school and fetched from classes, either by my mother or a driver from the business.

Breakfast, lunch and supper were always supplied by the cook. The beds were made and the house was cleaned by the servants.
