I find that hilarious, perhaps irritating. What is a real writer? I've been published since about 1963. I've won numerous prizes/awards. I've earned a living through my writing for decades. To me, a 'real writer' was always someone who could pay the bills through their writing. Perhaps that is an old time definition, but that is what we meant half a century ago.
