I don't think that is the question. Medium, as far as I know is not a social platform. Other content writing sites, depend on readers for income - not writers. It is the readers that are catered to - not writers.

If the platform does not cater to readers, it goes under. So what do readers want to read? That is the question. It is also the question that has never bene answered.
