I don't think it's that simple. South African business still ccontinues to have the greatest discrepancny in income between the lowest paid and what the bosses take home.

That is the cause of the tremendous inequality. And wherever there are extreme differences in wealth, violence follows.

In terms of inequality, South Africa is the most unequal country in the world. America is 13th from the bottom. The UK has also got a very large inequality gap.

When there is that degree of inequality, violence thrives. People become violently angry at the unfairness.
