I don't think criticism is so much scary as it can, in certain circumstances, affect your income. I've learnt through the years that if you say who you are, you will always find people of like mind.

I am the last person I would find inspiring. Someone mentioned me in an article as 'inspiration writer Tess Schlesinger.' I thought she was being sarcstic, but on rereading it, realized she was being sincere.

I think I'm the kind of writer who would like people to have two feet flat on the ground, and I suppose many of my articles shoot anything else down. That could offend, and I suppose, it's why I would never think that I'm the kind of person that inspires.

That said - thank you. I am flattered. :)
