I don't know where your judges got your criteria for good writing, but the piece that won was boring, wasn't particularly good,, and her story went precisely nowhere.

As a matter of interest, I asked people outside of Medium to read the piece. They all said the same thing - longwinded, boring, and something missing..

I think a lot was missing.

You've got some brilliant writers on Medium, but you bypassed them all.

Why?

I tried reading a few more pieces. I gave up. I would love to know what your criteria was for the entries.

Good, entertaining, interesting writing, it was not.
