I don't do discussions, if by discussions you mean that you're trying to change my mind about something. I don't go around trying to change people's mind about something, and the fact that so many people have clapped for this comment means I am not the only one to have drawn the conclusion that I did. The headline is misleading.

What I find amazing is that any writer has time to have 'discussions' with readers. I don't see Stephen King or David Baldacci or Nora Roberts discussing their work with readers. Nor do I see journalists or writers in print discussing their articles. Nor do I see Umair Haque discussing his articles. I only see people who want to be writers, or who see Medium as some sort of social media to discuss their thoughts. I have never had any desire whatsoever to discuss my thoughts with anyone. I say/write what I think. I am willing to listen to whatever people write/think. I am, however, not prepared to 'discuss' them. That, to me, is a lost cause. I have no interest in making people change their opinion, and I definitely don't see what moral right anyone has to change my opinion.

Nor do I have any interest in 'meaningful relationships' with other writers. Of course, I already do have established relationships with other writers. Through the years, when one is a writer, obviously one develops relationships with other writers.

The irony is that we don't discuss writing. We discuss our lives, politics, etc.

That said, I don't know who you are, and I certainly don't remember having a discussion with you.
