I don't care which particular text it is, they are NOT a source of ethics or goodness. They are primitive understandings of life as they knew it then. They were extremely limited in knowledge.
Today's studies of neurology, psychology, secular ethics, etc. are far more superior. And before you even begin to tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about, I spent 35 to 40 years studying these things.
I'm fully aware of ancient cultures. That does not change the fact that their understanding of life and events was still based in a lack of science.
These texts fucked up my life because some very ignorant people told me they were true, and in my ignorance, I believed them.
Also, as someone who comes from Africa, studied some courses of anthropology at the University of South Africa, and have lived and worked in many countries, I am not unaware of different cultures.
