The people who earn on Medium aren't the people who are writing literary pieces in order to connect with other human beings. A good few of us are here in order to earn an income, and we want to be read.

I also put a qualifer there, i.e. people who read for information.

I'm well aware that people here do write poetry and stuff about human emotions. The world is full of that stuff. I just need to step outside my front door in order to come face to face with it. I really, really don't need to read about it. I need factual information - that's in scarce supply.
