I didn't say that he didn't want to be one. I said I don't believe he will become one.
There is no way that he will be allowed to. This is not 1933. There is no way he will be able to stop elections. There is no way the American military will stand enforce his dictatorship.
It is simplistic to think that because he desires it, that it's going to be possible.
One more thing.
Once upon a time, I swallowed a lot of things put out by the left - until I started questioning some of their absurdities. An example was when Musk put out the Twitter papers, which they refused to read but criticized to hell and gone.
Up until that time, they adored journalists like Bari Weiss. She was an icon of the left. When she dared to read the Twitter papers, they accused her of betrayal, and the negative emotions they spewed out at her was something to behold.
The left accuused accused Republicans of lying about Hunter Biden. When I said it was the truth, the lot climbed into me (I read intenational sources which are not influenced by American politucs), they turned on me.
In other words, if the narrative does not suit the left, they will outlaw what is being said. Pro-Palestinians are yet another example.
I have spent considerable time on four social networks these past three years - all of them partisan. Threads, Post, and Bluesky were liberal, and X was conservative.
The only site on which you weren't penalized was X. I could say that Trump was a scumbag, that Musk was an idiot, etc, and I would not be banned, etc.
On the three liberal sites, if I said the same thing about Harris or Biden, I got burned the hard wsy.
There is no freedom of speech on leftist sites. Both groups buy into their own ideology, and much as it distresses me, in all the time I have been on X, nobody has mentioned Q and other absurdity.
There are some absurdities - that climate change is a hoax, that Trump is going to stop the wars in Ukraine and Israel (although I'm now not so sure about that), and that Trump will turn the economy around. And, yes, he will probably cave to Christian nationalism.
However, on multiple issues, the talk on X is more palatable than on leftist sites - for instance the support of Israel, etc.
I do not believe for a moment that Trump will be able to stop the democracy. I do not believe for a moment Musk's claim that if Harris won, America would become a one party state, and that migrants would be allowed to vote, and that thee Biden and Harris bused in all the migrants so that they could vote and turn Ameruca blue.
Yet, I do not have tbe freedom on Medium, or any other leftist site to mention all tbe things I don't believe about the left. That is because they are reason for expulsion. I have watched many writers get banned from here for that reason.
So, you see, while I was free to mention on Facebook that many liberals were turning to Trump, and that if the left continued on the path they were, they would lose 2024. I am nott free to give those reasons here.
I had no doubt that Trump would win. I continually warned on it on other sites. I was met with the same surely confidence that I was met with on the day I said Trump would win when the DNC nominated Hillary not Bernie.
Here's the thing, Martin. I am bipartisan, apolitical. I do not buy into ideaologies. I don't support Israel because I'm Jewish. I support Israel because I've read the Koran, met Jihadi (one tried to kill me), etc, and I see what is happening in tbe UK (my story later today), in the EU, and in Africa.
I don't believe Trump will become a dictator, that there will be no more elections in Ameruca.
