Could you please explain to me what America has to do with the idea that a Republic means that a country cannot be a democracy. I've read this garbage by some Americans for the past decade.

The word 'republic' means that a country isn't a monarchy - not rule by a king.

I am talking about the fucking English langugae - not the American constitution.
