I am very confused. My understanding was that a content writer was someone who wrote cntent for businesses. Being a freelance writer just means you aren't in a salaried job. I take it that you are not employed as a full time writer with a salary at the end of the month.

Therefore, regardless of whether you write content for business or feaure articles for a magazine, you are still a freelance writer.
