I am no American.

When the IRA kept bombing London in the 70s, the British did not go to war.America looks for excuses to go to war. After all, 60% of taxes are spent on the military. What else must you do with them?

On the whole, Americans must suffer from a huge feeling of inadequacy and inferiority. Only people who are constantly bombarded by feelings of inadequacy are do vicious towards others. It also explains the constant diagnosis od depression, and the forced positivity and cheerfulness.

This pattern is cultural. I have always thought that when America aquitted itself well after WWII, the resulting ptaise went straight to their heads. That’s what happens to people unaccustomed to recognition and who take it all to seriously.

Ever since then, America has been trying to replicate the victories in WWII.

I put it to you that while America did well, it was a team effort with the best brains of the British Empire, and that for all its hype, America has the hardware but not the brainware or the experience. The British Empire, on the other hand, had 250 years of invading countries accross the globe, and they developed an understanding that America does not have.

Of course, I might be wrong in all of this. Just my two pennies worth.
