I am never sarcastic. I meant it. When one is in constant danger of being raped or murdered, or one's sexual parts are being sought for muti (magical medicine), one is less concerned about how people address one. It's a minor matter.

South Africa is the rape capital of the world. In South Africa, small babies are raped because many men believe they will be cured of HIV is they do that. Some men find themselves murdered because another man needs to eat a male penis in order to get sexual prowess. People are murdered routinely. You take your life in your hands if you go out after dark.

So, I absolutely mean it. When one lives in a safe country, one worries about things that are of little consequence compared to when one is living in a very violent country.
