I am constantly puzzled with all these articles about how difficult writing is, and I have certainly never been told that it is difficult. In fact, I have never been told anything about writing at all.

I easily write 5000 words in two hours. I can spend 3 hours or 16 hours writing. Depends on what I'm writing. When I write, I go into the Zone. Nothing disturbs me. The soup burns to nothing on the stove and the coffee grows cold.

I've recently learnt to jot ideas for articles in my email for when I'm in a place where I can make use of them. I was losing to many good ideas. I think of two a minute, but discard most of them. It's not possible to write them all.

You said, "Once you start writing with a reader's mindset, a lot of the ego and insecurity disappears."

I am a reader - I easily read for 5 hours each day. Sometimes I read throught the night (at least twice a week). I don't have an ego - probably because I have Aspergers and an ego never formed. I'm not insecure about writing because I started being published when I was about 9 years old - so that's 60 years I have been writing. Then, again, I was never insecure about writing. It just happened, and I never spoke to anyone else about it. It was easy to get published.
