How has it hurt us all? They've given us half the fee that they normally get. Before that, they did pay us if people joined through our membership. It said so in the payment data somewhere.

For the life of me, I do not understand how being paid if someone joins through you is a problem. Medium is not asking people to go and look for readers. Many people have joined through me.

I didn't ask them to. They just love my writing. Many have told me that they specifically joined in order to read me. What am I missing here?
