How did I take it at face value? I'm saying that I don't know how true it is. At the time, I had the social understanding of a 5 year old, and I was in a class of others who were all converting to become Jewish. My mother isn't Jewish, so I had to convert.
I am so sick and tired of the constant racist chant. Everything that makes an evaluation of someone or something else is racist. At this point, the term has lost all meaning.
I have not time for feminism. They all have an axe to grind.
Interesting that you say that Jews thrived under Ottoman rule - not according to the Jews who are now relating the hell they lived through in the Levant. They would have had to submit to Sharia Law and pay very high taxes.
Islam has absolutely nothing in common with Judaism. I have read both the Koran and Torah, and anyone who has, will know that.
I was born into a secular home, and I'm a hardcore atheist. I have not time for religion. I spent 10 years as an evangelical Christian, and some years later I converted to Judaism. I also spent 10 years studying comparative religion. I don't believe there is a god, so I'm not quite sure why you're talking about 'my religion.'
You seem to think that all Jews believe in gods. Half of Israel is secular, and a great many of them are atheists.
In the years that I was a Christian, i took every word that came out of Jesus's mouth (according to the gospels), and every single sentence is taken from Torah, Talmud, etc. Even the commands to love one another. If you have a concordance, suggest you check everything he said. The only difference is that parables.
Islam orders Muslims to kill whoever will not convert to Islam. It says that people who aren't Muslim who live within Muslim territories can keep their own religion, but they must obey Sharia law and they must pay taxes for protection.
I suggest you don't listen to Karen Armstrong. She sounds like an idiot to me. And, yes, I did google her. I prefer the writings of Christopher Hitches, Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and others with a brain.
